Our Platform
TEN (10) PILLARS OF DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE FOR DISTRICT #8 - NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA
Our Ten Pillars of Development Initiative
01 — Healthcare Delivery
Through Roosevelt S. Dahn’s “I-Care Health Liberia Foundation” in Yarsonnoh, we will expand this plan and continue to provide free quality healthcare to our people throughout the district
We will supply all the little clinics in the district with medical equipment and accessories from the United States of America through the I-Care Health Liberia Foundation
We will provide service to our old folks in the district by giving them a free health examination at their convenience
We will supply our disabled population with free wheelchairs, canes, walkers, etc. for easy mobility
02 — Education
We will build a High School in the district; to be specific, in our district Headquarters. If questions arise like ‘Why should we build a high school in our district?’, here are the reasons:
We have ignored the fast-growing population in Nimba County currently that in time to come, every district will receive an increase in population which would help our district if we had a High School already built here
We will improve the teaching system in the schools in our district, we will work with the school system in the district by giving all of the government teachers a little compensation from our office in the form of cash to enable them to focus on the teaching
We will supply most of the schools in the district with sitting capacity by fixing more armchairs and benches for our students
03 — Agriculture
We are interested in helping our people to grow more food in our district. By so doing, we will empower our people who are doing group farming in the district with money to grow their own food and feed the district by selling it to our people
For example, the “GLEHYEE KWA-DOO Agriculture Development Farmers Inc. in Bunadin, Mehnpea Mah, Nimba County has inspired me so much that we will use their work as our case study as we have been supporting them to grow their own food and sell it in Bunadin to the general public
To move away from the old way of allowing politicians to fool our people for bags of rice, we will empower every town and village in the district to make their own general garden and sell the crops by themselves and undertake whatever developmental initiative they would like to undertake in their community without officials interfering.
04 — Sports
As a sports lover, I also have an interest in the district sports activities
Therefore, we will build a Mini-Stadium in the district at a selected location that will bring social activities amongst us in the district and encourage our young people to advance themselves through sports
This gone 2021 Nimba Country District League that we supported with assorted materials such as 2 sets of jerseys, 2 footballs, 5 bags of 25kg rice, and $10,000LRD has inspired me as well. For this reason, I want us to invest money in the district sports
We will use the district stadium to raise money from the “Gate Intake” or otherwise, tickets sold from every game to accommodate the District Sports needs
05 - Empowerment of Women
I have an interest in our district Women
Therefore, we will launch a vagile savings loan in the district to empower qualified women who want to do business
However, our team will monitor people who will receive the money to make sure that they use the money for the intended purpose
We will build market buildings in some of our Chiefdoms’ Headquarters to enable our marketers to sell in those buildings
06 - Empowerment of Youth
I have an interest in our district Youths
For the Youth, we will launch a scholarship fund drive for qualified students to enable them to go back to school
We will host quarterly Youth worship to educate our youths about their future and listen to their concerns
07 - Jobs Creation
I will immediately review the NRC concession agreement and make sure that it includes our people’s interest and improve their poor living conditions on the plantation
I will demand better and improved living conditions for all employees in Cocopa
First of all, I would like to know what percentage of jobs are given to our citizens in the district by the NRC company
If not encouraging as expected, I will demand the company to employ specific numbers of people from our district
I also will demand from the company that EMPLOYEES PAY be disbursed on time and this demand will be signed into the new concession agreement
08 - Proposed District Headquarters & City Status
I think we deserve better in our fast-growing district
On my first day in the Capitol Building, I will submit a bill that will allow some major Districts’ Headquarters in the Republic of Liberia to gain their city status. By so doing, I will lobby with my colleagues in the Capitol Building and the Executive branch to approve my bill so our district Headquarters, Flumpa can also be a city.
If I succeed on this bill, our city will be able to employ a few of our citizens in the district to work with the city administration as part of the job creation.
We will lay out our own “Proposed City” design that would attract the government to work with us on this Bill
09 - Electricity
We will work with the Jungle Energy Power (JEP) company based in Ganta City to supply all the towns along the main road that falls within our district between Saclepea and Ganta.
This means that all those towns along the main road will have access to the Jungle Power electricity that passes through those areas.
All the business people along the main road would be able to take electricity in their business centers or homes for an affordable price from the JEP Company through our initiative
For those towns and villages that are far away from the main road within our district, we will also install solar panels for light so our children there too can play under lights at night time free of charge.
10 - Reconciliation
After the election, we will go from town to town to reconcile with our citizens and continue to do so through sports.
